Share
Welcome to the fifth post of our series, Sidewalk Signs of NYC, where we continue to spotlight the coolest New York City signs and the brands behind them!
This time, we were on our way to Williamsburg to visit a friend when we saw Amarcord Vintage on Bedford Ave. Turns out, Amarcord has been serving up some serious fashion history and high-end vintage since 2000.

Amarcord Vintage - Brooklyn Staple for Vintage Lovers
Amarcord Vintage isn’t just any vintage store. It’s a curated collection of fashion gems, handpicked from all over the world by founders Patti Bordoni and Marco Liotta (if you look closely, Marco is standing by the door in the first picture!). With roots in Italy and a keen eye for standout pieces, they’ve created a vintage haven for fashionistas and even newbies like myself. While I was there, we saw some classic Gucci pieces and a funky piece from Fiorucci.

The store has a stronger focus on women's clothing but they did also have a small section for men which is where I took the photo above. The vibe was a seamless blend of past and present that feels fresh yet timeless. After speaking with Marco briefly, I could tell that every piece on the rack had been selected with care. It's easy to see why Amarcord is a must-visit for anyone serious about vintage fashion.
Spotting the Sign
Now, let’s talk about that rounded semi-circle metal sign that stopped me in my tracks. This was a cool sign. Amarcord’s sidewalk sign uses block text and plays with the text sizing: "NOTHING HAUNTS US like the VINTAGE we didn't buy". I love it. It's provocative and cheeky, much like the boutique itself. The text is loud and unapologetic. You can tell Amarcord Vintage has a strong sense of style and taste just by looking at the sidewalk sign.
Why You Should Check It Out
If you love vintage and find yourself needing a walk after Peter Lugers or a leisurely walk after Bathhouse, stop by Amarcord to check out some of their cool vintage. And if you’re a designer or stylist, Amarcord’s Archive & Showroom is like finding the Holy Grail, with over 50,000 pieces to explore by appointment.
Also, if you're looking for cool metal sidewalk signs or mirrored A frames, check out our Signs and Mirrors collection.
