Product Care and Maintenance

How do I care for my mirrored sign?

Mirrored signs require gentle care to maintain their reflective quality. Here’s how to keep your mirrored sign looking its best:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft microfiber cloth to wipe down the surface regularly, removing dust and fingerprints. If the sign is dirty, mix a small amount of mild detergent with warm water, and gently clean the mirror. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the reflective surface.
  • Polishing: Occasionally, you may want to polish the mirror to restore its shine. Use a glass cleaner that is safe for mirrors, applying it with a microfiber cloth in a gentle, circular motion.
  • Protection: Keep your sign indoors during extreme weather conditions like heavy rain, snow, or high winds to prevent damage. If used outdoors, place it in a location where it won’t be easily knocked over or scratched.
  • Storage: When not in use, store your mirrored sign in a dry, protected area. Cover it with a cloth or protective cover to prevent dust buildup and scratches.
How do I care for my stainless steel sign?

Stainless steel signs are durable and designed to withstand various weather conditions, but they still require some care to maintain their appearance:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a soft cloth to remove dust and dirt. For more thorough cleaning, use a mixture of mild detergent and warm water. After cleaning, rinse with clean water and dry the sign thoroughly to avoid water spots. Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they can scratch the steel.
  • Polishing: You can use a stainless steel polish to enhance the shine and remove any minor scratches. Apply the polish with a soft cloth, following the grain of the steel to maintain its finish.
  • Protection: While stainless steel is resistant to rust and corrosion, it’s still a good idea to bring the sign indoors during extreme weather to prolong its lifespan. Avoid placing the sign in areas where it might be exposed to chemicals or saltwater, which can damage the metal over time.
  • Storage: Store your stainless steel sign in a dry place when not in use. If possible, cover it to protect it from dust and potential damage.
How often should I clean my sign?

The frequency of cleaning depends on the location and environmental conditions:

  • Indoor Signs: For indoor signs, a monthly cleaning should suffice to keep them dust-free and looking fresh.
  • Outdoor Signs: Outdoor signs may require more frequent cleaning, especially if exposed to pollution, dust, or weather elements. Cleaning once every two weeks or as needed will help maintain their appearance.
  • High-Traffic Areas: Signs placed in high-traffic areas may accumulate dirt and smudges more quickly, so a weekly wipe-down is recommended.
What’s the best way to store my sign when not in use?

Proper storage is key to maintaining the condition of your sign:

  • Cool, Dry Place: Store your sign in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
  • Protective Covering: If possible, cover your sign with a cloth or protective cover to shield it from dust and potential scratches.
  • Avoid Stacking: Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of your sign, as this could cause damage or dents.
