Welcome to the third post of our series, Sidewalk Signs of NYC, where we continue to spotlight the coolest New York City signs and the brands behind them!
Today, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Blue Bottle Coffee, a brand that’s become synonymous with high-quality, expertly crafted coffee.
Founded in Oakland, California, Blue Bottle Coffee has grown into a global phenomenon, known for its meticulous approach to sourcing and brewing coffee. We recently saw a video on Blue Bottle and found out the founder, James Freeman, was previously a clarinetist!
Their coffee is good, really good. Each coffee is made to order but it isn't cheap. My go to order is a cold brew ($6 for a small). I can usually tell the quality of a coffee shop by the ice they use. Blue bottle uses large cubes where most other coffee shops use some version of crushed ice. Beware, this thing packs a Punch!

I love Blue Bottle's aesthetic. It's sleek but also warm given the pronounced use of blond wood throughout the store. The sidewalk sign features a minimalist design, true to Blue Bottle’s clean and modern aesthetic.

The sign’s simplicity is its strength—no flashy colors or unnecessary details, just a crisp natural metal background with that signature blue bottle logo. It's likely made from stainless steel and the frame is fixed, unlike most sidewalk signs where the frame hinge is foldable.
Blue bottle knows what it wants and it stays true to its essence. We're big fans of their sidewalk sign. If you're looking for a similar sleek stainless steel metal aesthetic, check out some of our stainless steel A-frame sidewalk signs at Signs and Mirrors.
