At Signs and Mirrors, we love helping businesses (especially husband and wife) bring their unique brand stories to life through custom signage. One of our latest projects has us working with Luma Wellness Studio—an exciting new fitness space set to open at The Yards in Navy Yard, DC this Saturday November 2, 2024! Luma blends yoga and mat Pilates with innovative wellness treatments including even spray tans, creating a truly holistic experience that’s already catching the attention of fitness enthusiasts.
Welcome to Luma Wellness Studio
Founded by Navy Yard residents Kelly and Adam Belasco, Luma Wellness Studio was born out of their passion for fitness and well-being. After noticing a gap in the Washington DC fitness offerings, Kelly—a certified Pilates instructor—and Adam, a CrossFit enthusiast and personal trainer, decided to open their first studio together. They’ve lived in Navy Yard for four years, and now they’re bringing something fresh to the community.
Luma’s unique approach includes red light therapy and infrared heat (80-90°F) infused into their yoga and mat Pilates classes. Kelly discovered firsthand how these low-intensity workouts, combined with red light therapy, reduced her stress and improved her health when she was working a stressful corporate job. From personal experience, she also found that a custom spray tan elevated the positive effects, which is why Luma will offer spray tanning services as part of their wellness experience. We have never heard of an all-in-one solution like this before and are excited to try Luma out ourselves!
Luma’s Unique Classes
The studio will feature six distinct class formats, each designed to help clients sculpt, tone, relax, and recharge. Every class runs 50 minutes, offering a balance of movement, mindfulness, and restoration, making it a one-stop destination for anyone looking to stay active while nurturing their well-being.
Founding memberships are limited, with only 25 discounted spots available when they launch on November 2, 2024—first come, first served! Pricing will increase for the next group of 25 members, so early birds will enjoy the best deal as they become part of this brand-new wellness community.
Crafting the Perfect Sign for Luma Wellness
For an innovative business like Luma, we knew their sign had to reflect the same. The result? A stunning A-frame sidewalk sign with curved edges made from two sheets of stainless steel brush finished to achieve a mirror effect. This sign welcomes clients with the soft edges while encouraging them to take pictures capturing Luma’s encouraging messages and brand identity.
On each side, the sign proudly displays the Luma logo up-top with the tagline “YOU'RE GLOWING”— putting each class attendee in a positive mood both before and after their session. The sign also includes a link to their Instagram @lumawellnessstudio and website so passersby can remember to check out their classes online and book a session. We absolutely love the look of Luma Wellness new Sandwich Board Sign with it's rounded curved edges and mirrored finish, it's simply stunning!
